And Then They Came for You…

http://www.counterpunch.org/gardner12272010.html

An outrageous targeting of Dr. Frankel, a medical marijuana physician is currently taking place, not due to his work or the quality of his recommendations for marijuana pursuant to California law, but for his own admitted use of cannabis.

Now, why would a seriously injured California physician be any less entitled to medical marijuana than any other individual?   We have to speak up and do something about the new pogroms, the victimization of marijuana patients.  Remember the old canard about “then they came for me?”…. (warning Goodwin’s Law Alert)….

Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) is the guy to whom this bit of wisdom is attributed, about German Intellectuals and their the inactivity during the Nazi rise to power

They came first for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew.

Then they came for me
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

Those of you that have been following the news or our site and videos know that our office represents in excess of 250 collectives.  We also represent 8 collectives in the current litigation against the city of Los Angeles to challenge the Medical Marijuana Ordinance the city has promulgated.

The great news is that our office and other lawyers in the case have now succeeded in obtaining a preliminary injunction against the LA Ordinance and our clients will be able to remain open, etc. with greater rights than other collectives due to the granting of the injunction.  If you want to join the litigation call today.

Here is a copy of Judge Mohr’s well reasoned opinion.  !!!

Those of you who have been following the story as it has evolved since 2006 on this site, and most recently as the new Los Angeles Medical Marijuana ordinance was deliberated, passed and instituted, this writer, as a medical marijuana lawyer, has been complaining about the doubtful constitutionality of the law. And, after extensive litigation since June, 2010, we have the answer from an impartial judge, a proud member of the judicial branch agrees: The Los Angeles Medical Marijuana Ordinance is unconstitutional!
